Example: Their interests didn't match, so it took a long time to agree what to do together.

Example: His interests didn't match her interests.

To make a successful match or pairing.

Example: They found out about his color-blindness when he couldn't match socks properly.

To equal or exceed in achievement.

Example: She matched him at every turn: anything he could do, she could do as well or better.

The process by which things are matched together or paired up.

A set of independent edges in a given graph, i.e. a set of edges which do not intersect, such that pairs of vertices are "matched" to each other one to one.
